Coaching Staff

Soccer Development International has a highly trained staff that posses vast amounts of experience. Most members of the Coaching Staff have earned either coaching certificates from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) or United States Soccer Federation (USSF) or both, as well as have both professional and/or international playing experience. This type of expertise forms the back bone of Soccer Development International as players are exposed to not only quality coaching but are educated by a Coaching Staff that can help them achieve their eventual goals. The Staff is trained to specifically identify potential technical deficiencies in players and work towards improving them by designing various methods to enhance the players technical development. Soccer Development's has worked with Coaches from the following countries: Trinidad and Tobago , USA , Nigeria , Haiti , Jamaica , England , Mexico , Bulgaria and Ghana to date.

Technical Director: Neil Berment

Neil Berment, native of Trinidad and Tobago, is a former student of the University of South Carolina-Aiken where he attained his Baccaluerate Degree in Business Administration - Management. Neil Berment is the founder of Soccer Development International and is committed to the continued development of soccer players, programs and the fundamentals of soccer. At USC-Aiken, Neil became a cornerstone player, role model and leader for the development of the soccer and has continued his key role in the development of collegiate players as an assistant for the USCA Pacers and the head coach for many youth soccer programs. Neil was a stand out defender at his alma mater as well for his high school in Trinidad Queen's Royal college. As a player, Neil had stints with semi-pro teams Caledonia AIA (Trinidad) and Caribbean Stars (Canada). Neil boasts over twenty four (24) years of playing and ten (10+) years coaching experiences that helped condition his coaching abilities including his National team duty for Trinidad and Tobago.

Assistant Technical Director: Franz Jones

Franz Jones is a native of Trinidad and Tobago. He attained his Bachelor's degree in Biology from South Carolina State University before moving on to complete his Masters degree in Exercise Physiology at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. Before moving to the United States, Franz was a key defender for his high school, St. Mary's College in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad. His philosophy of continued improvement and development of the player and the game led him to join Soccer Development International when it was founded in 2002. As a coach, he has had the pleasure of coaching at the Collegiate, High School and youth levels. In addition to his coaching experience, Franz is also a USSF Certified Referee and a Certified Exercise Specialist by the American College of Sports Medicine.
